179 European Job Days since 2013 – more than 20.000 published job offers and more than 77.000 job applications … and numbers are growing with an ambitious agenda:
- 13 November: Working in Gothenburg / West Sweden
- 14 November: Talent in Tech – Sophia Antipolis
- 20 November: New Career in Hungary
- And many more European Job Days organised by EURES
PES and their EURES advisors are main actors supporting these events.
This efficient and resource-saving way of looking for staff across Europe clearly meets expectations from employers, jobseekers, the media, chambers of commerce and employers’ representatives, and last but not least PES staff.
Online recruitment is part of today’s labour market and will play an increasingly important role in the future.

Let us share one recent success story with you…
The European Online Jobday Tyrol: The mountains are calling!
The Austrian PES, AMS, gives a prime example with the European Online Jobday for the winter tourism region Tyrol – a modern and successful campaing with well-received free of charge opportunities for jobseekers and employers.
The EURES member states disseminated this event via their social media. The European Commission did likewise and the AMS actively promoted the Jobday with a broad range of media towards jobseekers and partners on the labour market. These news soon reached the Austrian press and well-known newspapers as well as the most listened radio station in Austria.
There were no fewer than 88 Tyrolean tourism businesses, publishing 364 job offers with a total of 811 vacancies for this event.
Supported by a video demonstrating the attractive work region Tyrol with its various jobs, companies and employees talking about their experiences, 1120 registered jobseekers from all over Europe could hear the mountains calling them and could not resist to reply immediately with:
- 960 job applications from 167 unique applicants
- 48 online job interviews (not counting those that took place via other media such as Face Time, phone, Email, Skype etc.)
The top 5 countries of jobseekers registered were Austria, Spain, Italy, France and Portugal. Mostly applicants in the age range of 25 – 34 years and 34 – 44 years.
