September 17, EURES Bulgaria, as part of the Bulgarian Public Employment Service, has been organising a successful international labor exchange – the European Job Day in Sofia. Employers and job seekers have been able to connect for free via the online EURES communication platform.
On the spot, 14 Bulgarian and European employers and over 60 EURES representatives from Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Cyprus, Finland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Sweden presented job vacancies as well as working conditions in their countries.
The Bulgarian PES can be proud of the results:
- Over 1 400 job vacancies were presented by Bulgarian and foreign employers registered in the online platform.
- Nearly 1 500 job seekers registered online, from which about 1 000 were with completed university education. Most of them are young people in the age group 25-34 and more than 980 were Bulgarian jobseekers. The most registered non-Bulgarian jobseekers from the EU were from Spain, France, Italy and Portugal. Significant was the number of registered job seekers from outside the EU.
- 148 employers from 17 countries – Bulgaria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Greece, Poland, Austria, Ireland, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden – registered in the online platform for the event. 115 of the employers were Bulgarian, followed by Spain, Austria and Ireland. The vacancies announced were in the fields of hotel and restaurant business, tourism, light and heavy industry, information and communication technologies, agriculture, construction and others.
